The Lawesson's reagent reacts with the alcohols in the surgical spirit. It swaps the oxygen atom in the alcohols for a sulfur atom, thus generating a thiol or mercaptan (different names for the same thing). Mercaptans are used to give a smell to natural gas. They are also a key component of skunk spray.

Silver cyanide is sold as a powder. It is toxic, so don't ingest it. It will cause skin irritation, so wear latex (or nitrile) gloves while handling it. Under no circumstances should you heat it as this will produce toxic hydrogen cyanide gas.

It should react to form allyl isocyanide and silver iodide. Silver iodide is a yellow precipitate, so the formation of a yellow solid shows that the reaction has occurred.

Do not buy tert-butyl isocyanide, as it is a different chemical. Butyl isocyanide smells, but tert-butyl isocyanide is toxic.
