How to Turn on an iPhone Without the Lock Button
This wikiHow teaches you how to turn on an iPhone without using the Lock button to do so.
1You'll see two prongs that should fit into the wall like any other standard plug on one side of the power adapter (the white cube).
2The USB end of the charger is a rectangular piece of exposed metal with a block of plastic inside of it. It plugs into the rectangular slot on the outward-facing side of the power adapter. If you're having trouble fitting the USB end into the adapter, try flipping the USB end over.
3There are two types of iPhone charger cables: Lightning - iPhone 5 and up. The charging end is narrow and flat. 30-pin - iPhone 4S and down. The charging end is wide and flat.
4If you're using a Lightning cable, the charger will fit no matter how you insert it into the device's charging port. A 30-pin charger must be inserted with the grey rectangle icon on side of the charger facing the same way as the iPhone's screen.
5This icon is indicative of your iPhone powering on; after a few seconds, you'll arrive at the Lock screen. Once your iPhone finishes starting up, press the Home button and input your passcode to finish unlocking the phone. If you see a battery outline with a red line in it, this means your iPhone needs a few minutes of charging before it will be able to start up.
