How to Make an Animal House


Making an animal house suitable for an animal in the wild is a great way to help out without interfering too much with nature. It is using our human stewardship role in the environment to aid our fellow creatures and to restore some of the habitats that our activities destroy or remove.

You need the place and house type to fit with the animal's needs. If you're making a birdhouse, make a nest and put it high in a tree. You don't think a bird would live in the ground, do you? It has to mix with the animal's habitat.

Generally, you should just get lots of grass and bunch it up in the home. It doesn't have to be perfect. If you're making a squirrel's home, make a nest. The same with a bird. Also, put food in it to attract said animal.

You don't want to put an animal in a house that's too small; it needs room to stretch. Make sure it's big enough to fit at the minimum of two, and at the max, five.
